BALANCED DIET

Do you know what your dog is eating?

Mass-produced dog food tends to have a staggering list of ingredients, including preservatives, so it can be hard to tell precisely which ones are helping your dog and which ones are harming them.

Having complete control over what’s going into your dog’s body can be an eye-opening experience, and being able to see the changes a fresh diet can make may even lead you to take better care of yourself.

When dogs get a properly balanced diet, you can see it all over them. Balanced dog food must include nutrients such as protein, carbohydrates, fiber, and fats, as well as micronutrients like vitamins and minerals. It is vital to understand what these components do in a dog’s body when considering buying or making food for them. Different ingredients are suitable for different things.

Knowing the nutrients required for a balanced diet and the source that provides them is a good start.

But applying the holistic science of Ayurveda to modern diet preferences requires a customized approach for each dog. After all, would you consider all dogs to be exactly alike?

Through consultation, we uncover the unknowns and discover the knowns which inform a dietary plan that is suitable for your dog.

Currently, I offer two sessions - Nutritional Balance Session and Restoration Therapy Session

Nutritional Balance Session (NBS)

In this session, we focus on current dietary routines, and observed imbalances caused by food, and work on an updated nutrition plan to address the same.

  • 2 video sessions in total

  • First video session: 45 mins studying dog's dietary routines including treats, discussing any observed imbalances as witnessed by you including current treatments given to the dog, identifying specific goals for the dog to create a customized meal outline

  • Second video session: Developing a 2-week meal outline to address both the goals and observed imbalances

  • Providing supplemental information, references, and other related information to help with the meal outline

  • 15-minute follow-up video session post 2 weeks of meal outline

NBS is intended to assist you in achieving overall wellness for your dog and providing optimum nutrition for him. The restoration therapy session is recommended for dogs with advanced medical conditions and diseases since it includes ayurvedic dietary therapies. However, it is highly recommended to seek guidance from a veterinarian or professional medical care person before adopting customized meals.

Protein

When digested, protein breaks down into amino acids. Amino acids are needed to build and repair muscles and other body tissue. They’re also needed to form skin cells and grow hair.

Amino acids keep the immune system fighting, help the body create hormones and enzymes to help absorb nutrients, and supply energy.
